I have been eager to see the Beach Boys since Mike Love is the only true original member still performing. Just like a huge wave, my reluctance was swept away when the group came out strong and delivered a solid performance for the entire show. They performed all of the Beach Boys classics. They encouraged everyone to get close to the stage and "Dance, Dance Dance" which was great!
When An Alchemy of Past and Present came out, I was pleasantly surprised. Being in the 4th row, I was initially taken aback by how he showed his age having never seen him in concert before. However, that feeling was quickly swept away as he and his new group of "4 Seasons" launched into a string of hits. He may not have hit the high notes like he used to, but neither I nor anyone else cared.
Both groups genuinely seemed grateful for the support from all the people in attendance. It was a great night overall.
One note about the staff at Mt. Laurel Center: there was an issue with our original seats, but when it was explained to the seating manager, he promptly assigned someone to assist us in finding better seats than what we had initially. It was evident that everyone working there was genuinely interested in providing excellent customer service.
